Something funky is going down tomorrow night, and I can’t wait. Dinner will be made by a trio of award-winning chefs, in a fancy new hotel room, with people we don’t know.
Le Fooding and MasterCard partner together each year (this is season three) to offer a series of events called Priceless Soupers, where they host fun events with some of the city’s best chefs and restaurants.
Tomorrow night, March 30th, marks the start of Season Three, where three exciting chefs will provide room service – dinner will be served in the hotel rooms themselves, with 4-6 people per room. You could have reserved all the spots in your room of course, but my friend and I opted to have surprise guests join our table.
All three chefs were awarded prizes in Le Fooding’s 2015 Guide:
Chef: Arnaud Lahaut
Award: Best Table
Restaurant: Miles in Bordeaux
Chef: Mathieu Rostaing-Tayard
Award: Best Bistro in France
Restaurant: Café Sillon in Lyon
Chef: Mathieu Perez
Award: Le Fooding Crush (Fooding d’amour)
Restaurant: Les Percherons in Céret
Location: The newly opened Grand Pigalle Hotel (Monday will be the 4th official day of operation)
The Experimental Group (Experimental Cocktail Club, Prescription, Beef Club, Ballroom, Companie des Vins Surnaturels) just opened this new hotel (they’re on a roll, so why not), and it’s beautiful and ambiance-y in all the right ways. It’s a testament to their ability to create intrigue and atmosphere that last Thursday night before they officially opened, my friends and I were drawn in to have a drink just because we were walking by after dinner, and it beckoned.
We didn’t find out until our beautiful Italian wine was being poured by a beautiful man that we were at the soft opening of the Grand Pigalle Hotel, set to open the next day. I had heard the name before thanks to the Priceless Souper event, but with no name on the exterior, it was only the good looks and charm of the place that drew us in. Bien fait.
Mystery dinner commences at 21h30.
